The proliferation of smartphones and gadgets in recent times has revolutionized the way we conduct and manage our daily activities. Virtually every aspect of human endeavor has in one way or the other utilized mobile apps in solving and managing complex problems and processes. The academia isn’t left out, as mobile apps have been effectively deployed by staff and student alike in aiding and fast tracking the learning process. This article is more concerned about the educative benefits of installing certain mobile apps, especially from the student perspective. With that being said, these are the Ten Mobile Application we suggest every Nigerian student should have:

1. Dictionary App
                 dictionary app.png
Due to its importance, the dictionary app has to take the number one spot on our list of must-have apps for students. It is crucial for every student to own a dictionary. I mean, how do you interpret certain bogus words used by professors, lecturers, teachers without a dictionary? That will be a tall order if you ask me. Technology has made it possible for you to carry even a consise, digital dictionary in your smartphones and gadgets. So, there is no excuse for any sane student not to, at least, install one of mobile dictionary apps scattered across the web.

2. The Kindle reading app
                          Kindle bdmtech.blogspot.com.png
The world is embracing the use of eBooks and eReaders at an alarming pace these days, which has led to a massive decline in the demand for paper books. EBooks are the current norm these days and require specially designed gadget known as eReaders to properly access their content. Since some smartphones and tablets may not possess the Kindle or eBook reading functionality, the Kindle reading app was created to help replicate the features of the standard eBook reader.

3. DropBox
                    dropbox.png
The world is completely migrating to the digital platform, and you as a student shouldn’t be left out of the global digital party. The DropBox is a cloud-based storage service that allows you to upload, store and manage digital files such as eBooks, pictures, videos, and documents. The uploaded files can be accessed anywhere on planet earth, provided you have an internet connection within reach. Effectively utilizing the DropBox app can save you the stress of carrying those bulky reading materials around, especially during trips.

4. GoConqr
Are you that type of student that loves broadening the horizons and boundaries of your knowledge base? Then you need the right app that can grant you instant access to over 1.5 million learning resources scattered across the web. Students and researchers alike would find the GoConqr mobile app, which is available on the iOS and Android platform, a worthy digital companion.

5. TripAdvisor
                           Tripadvisor-shinnyshinny.tv.jpg
TripAdvisor is an important app for students who love traveling and exploring new places. Students going on exchange programs overseas will also find this TripAdvisor app extremely helpful. It provides you thorough insight on the various sights and sounds of host countries. Using this app, you can sample the nightlife, culture, restaurants and other important locations in your host country.

6. Mathway

                         mathway graphite.org.png
The name of this app alone gives you an insight as to what it’s used for. This mobile app is designed to operate just like your scientific calculator and can be used to solve various mathematical calculations from the field of Algebraic and Calculus. However, it’s advisable not to rely wholly on answers provided by the Mathway app. Despite this reservation, it’s still a powerful mobile app for savvy math students.

7. MyFitnessPal

                  myfitnesspal macstories.net.jpeg
As they say, “health is wealth.” Fitness plays a pivotal role in our everyday lives. It could be used to fight some ailments that pose a significant challenge to tradition and conventional medication. For students, mental fitness is essential for academic excellence, and the MyFitnessPal App provides you proper caloric combinations you could use alongside your fitness routines to boost mental alertness.

8. Camscanner
                 gigga.de.jpg
The everyday life of the average Nigerian student involves photocopying of lecture materials and documents. You can’t blame them. Many don’t come from privileged homes and can’t really afford to buy expensive textbooks prepared and sold by greedy lecturers. The Camscanner comes in handy and offers a cheaper alternative than standard scanners. It uses your smartphone’s built-in camera functionality to scan your important documents and notes.

9. LectureNotes
Yes, as the name implies, the LectureNote app is particularly useful for gadget owners whose devices make use of “the Stylus.” Using the LectureNote, you can take down important notes quickly and speedily with
your stylus. This app comes in handy for people who dread carrying bulky lecture notes up and down.

10. Todoist
Every student needs an app to help manage and organize their daily activities, and the Todoist app should be one of your basic choices. The Todoist app lets you plan all your daily activities in advance, so at every given time, you know what you are expected to do. This amazing app is particularly useful for keeping regular appointments and schedules.
In conclusion, these are some of the very best apps for students mentioned above. Nevertheless, your findings and discoveries shouldn’t be restricted to the few rightly mentioned above. As students, you should continue to research and test other apps that can be used to solve problematic areas of your academic endeavor. Educative mobile apps will help you overcome impediments that act as cog in the wheel of your academic pursuit, thereby equipping you with the right analytical skills to confront modern-day challenges.

Well, we've introduced a new category called facts and discovery. We are going to be showing you and telling you basic facts and knowledge we believe you might want to know.

Popularly called Monitor Lizard in Nigeria, the Komodo Dragon is discovered to be the only largest living species of lizard originally from Australia, but also found in the Indonesian Islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Padar.

The animals popularity as Komodo Dragon grew due to its peculiar larger than normal size – with a maximum length of 3 metres (10 ft) in rare cases and weighing up to approximately 70 kilogrammes (150 lb), for ones that dominate the Island in Indonesia.
                       komodo dragon
These innocent looking but ferocious reptiles are well adapted to hot, dry or aquatic habitat and typically lives in open grassland, savanna, scrubland and tropical forests at low elevations. With the powerful sharp claws and forelimbs, the Komodo dragons dig holes that can measure from 1 – 3 metres (3 – 10 feet) wide.

With the powerful sharp claws and forelimbs, the Komodo dragons dig holes that can measure from 1 – 3 metres (3 – 10 feet) wide.
Years of studying and research carried out on the scavenger beast shows that like snakes, they are one of the few venomous lizards on the planet.
According to Bryan Fry, a venom researcher at the University of Melbourne in Australia, who carried out the research said the dragon’s venom is poisonous enough to rapidly decreases blood pressure, expedites blood loss, and sends a victim into shock, rendering it too weak to fight.
They are known to hunt in packs using ambush strategy to take down preys. The ones as big as 8.5 feet long weighing as much as 200 pounds goes bigger meat, while smaller monitor lizards eat smaller preys.
Komodo dragons very fast creatures contrary to their lumbering and deceptive movement and can run rapidly in brief sprints up to 20 kilometres per hour (12.4 miles per hour).
Unfortunately, Komodo dragons are recorded to be responsible for the death of four people in the last 41 years.

One fascinating fact about this creature is its slow metabolism. As they are capable of swallowing down as much as 80 percent of their own body weight in food, their digestion process helps them survive on as little as one meal a month.
                         Komodo Dragon
They are also cannibalistic in nature – meaning they eat their young ones.
On reproduction, the Komodo dragon can reproduce sexually or asexually depending n their environmental conditions.

In situations where female live alone, research conducted on ones kept in the zoo showed that no male contributed to fertilisation of offsprings.
But in the case of sexual reproduction, mating is said to begins between May and August, and the eggs are laid in September. About 20 eggs are deposited in abandoned megapode nests or in a self-dug nesting hole.
Incubated for seven to eight months, the eggs hatching in April when insects are most plentiful. Young Komodo dragons are vulnerable and therefore dwell in trees, safe from predators and cannibalistic adults; take 8 to 9 years to mature, and are estimated to live up to 30 years.

This animal has been declared vulnerable by IUCN and are protected under Indonesian law – where the risk of attacking the creature is very rare since it can kill a human.
However, the reverse is the case in other countries. For instances, in some part of Nigeria, the Komodo dragon also known as Monitor lizard serves as meat, therefore are hunters catch.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND
Enyinna Nwigwe is from Imo state, Nigeria. Andy/Yinna (as friends like to call him)is the last of four children born to public servant parents in Nigeria. A graduate of the University of Calabar in Nigeria, Enyinna first made the headlines in Nigeria when as a shy teenager he won the teenage tennis tournament in his state, a title he went on to defend the next year.
He began his entertainment career as a runway model and transcended into a much sought after model for print advertising, but ultimately found his calling when he met internationally acclaimed filmmaker Jeta Amata who instantly saw the potential in him and went on to cast him in his first movie role and thus his prominent acting career was born.

SPEAKS MORE ABOUT HOW IT STARTED FOR HIM:
How did you begin this journey of acting
I started in 2004. Then I was studying at the University of Calabar. At a time, I was introduced to modelling, I started training models which I was doing as a part time back then as an undergraduate. That was what actually sustained my interest in entertainment. In 2003, I met Jeta Amata, who  was working in Calabar then, and we became friends.
When he was filming his movie, “The Wheel of Change”, he invited me to the location  and I honoured the invitation. Somehow, he was shooting a particular scene where he needed somebody to  compliment the role. That was how he casually asked me to play the role. I would say that my delving into acting was accidental. In fact, it was this singular action that triggered off my interest in acting.
Modelling was your first love. Have you dumped it?
I wouldn’t say I have dumped modelling even though it wasn’t a career path for me. It was something I was doing by the side. At a time, modelling was good. It was something that kept me busy as an undergraduate. Then I was doing runaway modelling within the South South region before I later stormed Lagos. I did a couple of jobs for leading telecommunications companies and airlines. Also, there was a job I did for a bank that  lasted for about two years. But since I started acting, I haven’t been doing modelling.

He also starred in “The Amazing Grace”, and most recently starring in the explosive political thriller ‘Black November’ as Tamuno. It is ‘Black November” a riveting film by Jeta Amata which depicts the violence, corruption and human injustice in the Niger Delta that has introduced Enyinna to America and potentially the rest of the world.

Americans have already grown fond of his glowing gifts as an actor with many suggesting that he is a rare combination of Sidney Poitier and Denzel Washington. Gaudy accolades to say the least, but a measuring stick for just how great Enyinna Nwigwe can become.

Away from the entertainment scene, sharp witty and business savvy Enyinna Nwigwe is a serial entrepreneur with interests ranging from building & construction to Importation of home remedy products and accessories.
Enyinna is part of the campaign “Save the Niger Delta”, a movement aimed at cleaning up the oil spills in the Niger Delta of Nigeria, one that informed the “Black November” story. He also is doing his bit to take Nollywood to the world and bring the world to Nollywood.

SPEAKS MORE ABOUT HIS CAREER AND LIFE
Being a ladies man, how do you handle advances from the opposite sex?
I get passes from women even when I’m on movie location and off location. But naturally, I know how to handle them. I’m a human behaviour person, I observe and understand  human behaviour. It helps me to manage situations like that very well. But I’m always nice and friendly to women. There are several ways you can be friendly and people would understand that you can be friends and at the same time be decent without having all the complications.
Can you deny that you have not hurt any woman in your life?
Well, if I have hurt anyone, it  may  not be  as a result of betrayal, or my being irrational and mean to that person. It’s just a case of misunderstandings that is peculiar to human nature.
Apart from studying Economics and going into modelling, did it occur to you that you would end up as an actor someday?
I used to be a shy kid, I grew up being a shy kid. My very first attempt at acting was so bad. Then I was about five years, and there was this kiddies programme on the television. My teachers were going from class to class selecting kids that would present a play on the television. In my class, I was the first kid that was selected to rehearse a few lines and before I could say one or two words, I was sent back to my  sit. I was so nervous and that attempt discouraged me as a child until  my meeting with Jeta Amata which opened my eyes further to film coupled with the friendship we had, and his passion for his career rubbed off on me. After which it opened up my mind causing me to realise  my great capabilities and things I could do with film.
If have the opportunity, what would change about your life?
I think I love my life the way it is.  There weren’t things I think is different really in my life.
What’s your dream in Nollywood?
My dream is to carve out a  unique brand for myself in the industry. I’m not necessarily interested in doing a thousand and one films in a year. I’m about doing what I love to do with any script that excite. If I don’t find an exciting script  for a  whole year, I will be doing my business by the side.

Throwback: The Most Bizarre Nigerian Freaky Myths Children Ever Heard.. (Funny)

Ever had a throwback at some of the hilarious and freaky myths or tales you were told as a kid? These myths and legends we were told had serious damaging effects and consequences if not adhered to.
They trail back to many generations before us and may still probably be passed down to future generations. Check out these 8 hilarious myths below and reminisce on your good old fun days as a child…

Madam Koi Koi (The Woman In Red)

Madam-koi-koi
Madam koi koi is one of the most popular stories told to all boarding school students.
One version of the madam koi koi story says a long time ago, there was a wicked teacher who loved the colour red and often wears it from head to toe. The woman also had a son.
Now one day, the children who she taught had enough of her, carrying her son, they beat him to the point of death, in the rush and struggle to save her son, she lost one leg of her shoes. Angry with what had happened, she vowed to take revenge on those who killed her son.
To this day she walks the earth, looking for her son and lost shoe. She can enter rooms in the night, and if you ever hear her telltale sound, koi koi koi, you immediately close your eyes and don’t open them until the sound of her heel cannot be heard again. Unless? Well, death is all that awaits you.

Bush Babies

bush babies
The bush baby is also a myth used to scare boarding school students into minding their business and staying indoors in the night.
The story narrates that on a calm night, with the wind at a minimum, when your almost at that point of sweet sleep, you will hear the sound of a baby crying outside your window. It will sound very much like a baby or a toddler crying, sometimes the kid will be calling for help. Now you being the good Samaritan, will go outside to help the little one, just as you reach the kid, he looks up at you with red eyes and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth and you will never be seen again.
Some say they kill and eat you right there, while others say they drag you to hell.
The moral of this story? Stay in bed and mind your own business.

Jinn

jinn
The Jinn which is peculiar to the north is said to have an Islamic background, most popular in boarding schools that have a majority of Muslims.
No one is sure what they look like, but it is agreed that they are very small, sometimes invincible and mostly live on trees and anthills.
They are believed to attack young ladies who leave their hair uncovered (unclad) especially when they pass under a tree.
Myths have it that it also attacks, if you step on their house or children or pour water on them, and don’t apologize. The question and irony of this is how does one even apologize when you don’t even know you did anything. Lol

Tossing Your Tooth Up A Roof

tooth up the roof
When a child looses a tooth in Nigeria, unlike in the western world with Europeans who put it under the pillow and wait for the tooth fairy, children throw their teeth onto the roof
This is how most children were told to dispose off their baby or “milk” teeth. A wish is often made as the child throws the tooth.

Whistling At Night

whistling

In some parts of Nigeria, whistling (making music/melody without singing) is a no no because you will wake the dead, who will whistle back at you and just may escort you back to their graves.
Another belief is that you will be calling snakes to you, and you won’t be able to control them.

Mammy Water

mermaid
Quite similar to Disney’s little mermaid, a Nigerian Myth has it that a river goddess who is described as a beautiful and graceful being, is half human and half fish.
However, this goddess is not a doe eyed princess looking for her true love, instead she’s out for an easy slave to carry back to her watery kingdom to serve her and her sisters for as long as they wish.
Another myth is that, if you find one brushing her hair by the beach at night, she will swim away and leave her comb behind, if you pick up this comb, she will appear to you in your dreams asking for it back, in exchange for money, any amount you want.

Looking In The Mirror At Night

mirrors at night
Legend being passed on from one generation to the next has it that at night, mirrors open the door to the underworld, ruled by dark forces and there goes the soul of the deceased.
It is believed that if you look in the mirror at night, you will see spirits, and evil. And the more you look at them, the stronger they will be nourished by your energy, which can supposedly help to break them from another world.

Pregnant Women
Pregnant-women-Nigeria

Most cultures and tribes have their own rules and beliefs when it comes to pregnant women. Nigerians are no different.
In some cultures, like the Ijaw and Yorubas, a pregnant woman is not allowed to see a masquerade because they believe that the baby will look like a masquerade when it is born.
Also in some places, when a pregnant woman is sitting with her legs out, you must not cross her legs, the reason? The baby might look like you or bad luck will follow the child.

Wow! I had a fun childhood in Surulere; those street carnivals and all that. It was fun. And, the friends I had in that area, which would be exclusive to me. I had a lot of friends in the area, so you could basically just get up and walk into anybody’s house, eat with them and sleep there if you wanted to. Everybody’s door was open to you all the time in my neighbourhood, anyway.

It’s always been a passion for me. Some people, along the course of life, decide to choose certain careers based on wherever life leads them. I am pretty focused and I know what I want and I always try to stick to that. I have always wanted to be in the arts. Even while growing up, everyone around me saw that that was what I wanted to do. I was always in some music or theatre-related issue. I was always doing something that had to do with the arts.
You are always well put together on the red carpet. Do you have a special designer for your clothes?
Well, I try to patronize as many people as I can in the fashion industry. Especially, if your item or your piece flatters me or something I could rock. I basically source for most of the clothes you see. They could be something I pick off a designer’s rack or something I put together myself.
So, do you have a role model in the industry when it comes to acting? Is there anybody you look up to?
Of course, there are a lot of people I admire in the industry. I learn a lot from them; I probably just watch their movies. A few of my personal favourites: I like Mercy Johnson. I like her acting. I think she is good. I like Mr. Ibu; he makes me laugh. There is something very unique about him. His talent is quite unique. I like Mojid Micheal as well. He is not a Nigerian but I think he is a very good actor. Everybody has something I like.

BIRTH NAME:           Abimbola Akintola

DATE OF BIRTH:       May 5, 1970

OCCUPATION:          Actress

MARITAL STATUS:   Not Married

INTRODUCTION
Bimbo Akintola is a popular Nigerian actress, known for Smoke & Mirrors (2008), Beyond the Verdict 2 (2007) and Beyond the Verdict (2007) and many more..

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Akintola was born on 5 May 1970  to a father from Oyo State and a mother from Edo State. She had her primary education at Maryland Convent Private School, Maryland, Lagos State. She proceeded to Command Day Secondary School, Lagos. She earned a degree in Theater Arts from University of Ibadan.

Bimbo Akintola is one of the most versatile character in the Nollywood Movie Industry and is very easy going. She is the third child of a family of six and a native of Oyo State, Nigeria. She started acting as a pupil with her peers for the school’s end-of-year drama events. As she took part in more plays, her passion for acting grew and became effortless with time.

SPEAKING ON HER BACKGROUND IN AN INTERVIEW:
How did your acting career begin?
My mum told me I had always been dramatic, since I was very young. So maybe it began from that time. She said one way or the other, I was always involved in acting. When I was in secondary school, I was also into dancing and at a point, I joined the choir, even though I didn’t stay long. I don’t think any profession would have appealed to me apart from acting. Even the other things I do, like singing, writing poems, etc., are hobbies. Acting is one t
hing I’m extremely passionate about. When I chose Theatre Arts as the course I wanted to study in University of Ibadan, my dad didn’t understand it for a while. He just felt you can’t make money from doing stuffs like that. He felt why not go and study something else so I could have a degree I could fall back on. I was a stubborn child, so I said no, I must study Theatre Arts and I did. He finally agreed with me.
What fond memories of growing up do you still have?
Growing up was fun. My mum got married at about 17, and at 18 she had her first child. As a young mother, she was a disciplinarian but loving. My dad was a Customs officer and he was posted to different places, so he only came home on weekends or fortnightly. Then, in the evening, we would sit outside in the balcony and my mum would tell us stories and teach us songs. And anytime she was cooking, everybody; male or female, would have to be in the kitchen with her. While cooking she would be singing and we had to join her as well. I was a tomboy and I liked to climb trees and jump fences. As a result, I always had bruises on my chin. My mum just couldn’t understand it so I was chastised every day. Over time, she couldn’t stop me from climbing trees, because I was a real tomboy. After a while, she got used to it.

CAREER AND LIFE

Her debut acting was when she featured in the film OWO BLOW in 1995 alongside Femi Adebayo and followed up with Out of Bounds in 1997 with Richard Mofe Damijo a movie which she was awarded the Best Actress/English Actress in Nigeria. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading role at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards.

She has also appeared in many popular movies such as The Mourning After, Out of Bounds, Diamond Ring, Dangerous Twins, 93days and 90Ninth Day.

Some reports online even rank you as one of the top actresses who can’t do without smoking. Does it bother you sometimes?

I’m not bothered. Anybody can write whatever they like. And this has been happening for the last 20 years. I have read many stories about myself online that I don’t even know the person they are talking about. I’m not bothered because I know who I am; my parents know who I am; my family and friends know who I am and when people who don’t know me meet me and have a conversation with me, they change their mind. So, I’m okay with that. There was a time I was outside the country and some persons wrote that I was in Ogba doing something funny. I laughed deeply. And that was about 15 years ago. The truth of the matter is that people want to read weird, funny stories and unfortunately, there is a huge base for stories like that everywhere in the world. So, that is why stories like that would never end. So, I’m not bothered.
SPEAKING MORE ON HER PERSONAL LIFE IN A 2017 INTERVIEW:
A lot has been said about your love life and some have said you should be married by now. Would you say the society is mounting pressure on you as regards marriage?
I guess these questions arise because of the country we live in and the kind of people we are. It’s also something I think we need to look at critically, because it seems we are creating more trouble for people, as marriages are now crashing within six months or even less. This is partly because the society puts a lot of pressure on people to get married. Shouldn’t we take a step backward and ask ourselves what we are doing wrong. It’s not about how soon, but how well? I think it’s time we realised that marriage is such a serious thing. Shouldn’t we allow people make their choices by themselves, without pressure? Parents should stop putting pressure on their children. Many women are divorced now and in some cases, there is serious fight and both of them would be fighting over the custody of the child. We need to start changing the way we look at marriage. It’s important we get married but marry at your own time.
You once said you love kids, and with the way people are embracing the option of child out of wedlock, popularly called baby mama, is it something you could do?
Of course, I can. Definitely I can do it because I don’t see anything wrong with it. Things are changing in the world at large. If you look around, you would find a lot of women are having babies and taking care of themselves. It’s everywhere. There are women who are not actors but are single mothers, and for a lot of people I think it’s about their biological clock. Instead of waiting for manna from heaven and you know there is no manna, and you feel the need to have children, then do it.

As a good-looking woman, how often do men approach you?
(Laughs…) Every day that I go out. It’s a normal thing every day; from younger men, to people of same age and of course older men. It’s a regular thing. If it is not happening, you have to worry about yourself. Because of what we do, people want to date actors.

Can you date an actor?
I’ve been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, so there is nobody I want to date in the industry, except such persons have not come into the industry yet. I know everybody and there is nobody I’m interested in dating. That is the truth. Most of them are like my brothers, and maybe it’s because of the work, because when I’m working, those things don’t even occur to me, so by the time work is over, I already see you as a brother or colleague. For me, I have never been interested in any actor. Never!

If you work closely with someone for a length of time, are you saying you have never had feelings for any actor in the line of duty
Never! It has never happened to me, personally. I don’t look at anyone except from the angle of the character the person is representing. I could talk with the person before or after, but at that point, you are probably entering the brother or friend zone. I’ve worked with the finest men in the industry and I have not felt anything like that before. I worked with RMD, and that was even when I had just started acting. I worked with Ramsey Nouah, Desmond Elliot, Emeka Ike, Kanayo Kanayo, Fred Amata, etc. they are all like my friends and brothers. Even the directors, like Jimi Odumosu, Lancelot Imasuen are like my brothers. So, for me, I have never had an attraction for an actors

She's been involved in so many controversies in her life time one of the most popular ones is the rumor she got married to another actor Yemi Blaq, a report which was later debunked and put to rest.

BIRTH NAME:             Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi

DATE OF BIRTH:         October 17, 1974

OCCUPATION:           Accountant, Real Estate Developer, King

INTRODUCTION

Enitan Ogunwusi  is a Nigerian accountant and the 51st Ooni of Ife. He succeeded the late Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who died on July 28, 2015. The Vanguard Newspaper described him as "an astute entrepreneur driven by turning impossibilities to ‘possibilities’". His reign has been marked by a modern outlook and a number of progressive policies.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Ọọ̀ni Ògúnwùsì hails from Giesi Royal Family, one of the four royal families in Ilé-Ifẹ̀, Osun State, Nigeria. The last Ọọ̀ni from the family was Ọọ̀ni Dérin Ọlọ́gbẹ́nlá (1880-1894). Ọba Ògúnwùsì assumed the title of Òjájá (II). Ojaja (I) was from Agbedegbede Compound, Irẹmọ Quarters (the ancestral home of the Giesi). His father is Prince Rọ́pò Ògúnwùsì, a veteran broadcaster. He is the third son in a family of six. He has three sisters.
He has a daughter, Adéọlá Àánúolúwapọ̀ Ògúnwùsì, born in Ibadan, in May 1994, to Omolara Olatubosun with whom he has been a co-parent.

The Ọọni is a qualified accountant. He attended Loyola College Ibadan between 1985 and 1991. Afterwards, he attended The Polytechnic Ibadan to study Accounting.
In 2002, he led the Federal Government of Nigeria delegation to Canada that enhanced alliances through a partnership with the government of Ondo State on solid mineral.

CAREER AND LIFE

On October 26, 2015, Adéyẹyè was selected as the king-elect out of 21 contenders to the Ọọ̀ni stool in an announcement by the Governor of Ọ̀ṣun State, Ọ̀gbẹ́ni Rauf Arẹ́gbẹ́ṣọlá. As a prince from the Giesi Family whose turn it was to produce a king, he beat out a number of competitors including his elder brother. Oba Ogunwusi received his Staff of Office from Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola on Monday 7 December 2015 at Enuwa Square, Ile-Ife in the presence of several dignitaries from all walks of life, including the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. The new king promised to unite the Yorùbás under a peaceful and prosperous reign.

Since his coronation, the king has made news for a number of notable actions and pronouncements including the promise not to re-litigate supremacy battles with other Yorùbá kings. On January 17, 2016, Ọọ̀ni Ògúnwùsi broke a 79-year-old antagonism between the thrones of Ifẹ and Ọ̀yọ́ by visiting the Aláàfin, the first of such visits in eight decades by an Ifẹ monarch. He has instituted a number of progressive causes in Ilé-Ifẹ̀, including a cocoa farm meant to feed thousands of widows in the state.

On June 12, 2016, Ọọni was presented with the key of the City of Sumerset, Franklin Township in New Jersey and honoured with the proclamation of the town of Franklin alongside his wife, Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi, the Yeyelua.

He was married from 2008 to 2016 to Adebukunola Bombata. He is now currently married to Wuraola Zynab Otiti, a marriage reportedly arranged by the Oracle. The wedding took place in Benin City while the reception held in Ile-Ife.

HE TALKS MORE ABOUT HIMSLEF AND HIS LOVE FOR TOURISM BELOW:
Kabiesi, you can afford to observe your honeymoon in seven star hotels  in Dubai or five stars hotels in Paris. You can afford to go to US and many other beautiful countries to buffet your honeymoon. Why La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort in Nigeria?
There is a saying that charity begins at home. It’s very important that we have home gown tourism. I am very passionate about domestic tourism. Why should I go abroad? Why? Does it have any economic meaning? No.  It does not and I am an advocate of anything Nigerian; I walk with it, I sleep and wake up with Nigeria, it rings in by brain and I am Nigerian to the core. This is one of the ways to promote Nigeria and encourage the youths.
Kabiesi, why are you a Nigerian to the core?
I have no choice than to be who I am.  Firstly, I am a Nigerian by birth and also by inclination. I am a Nigerian by every measure of it and regardless of my international exposure, I am still a Nigerian. So, I have to act as such. You too should be who you are in acts, deeds and perception.  That is the only way we can grow this nation. We have to encourage our youths. Before I became a king I could not lose the grip of my relationship with the youth, I believe in youth empowerment and I am very close to them. The general saying that do not forget your root, my root  are the youths. The stool is dedicated to them and they are over 70 per cent of the entire population. I flew in from Sokoto to La Campagne where I went to launch a project with His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto. Our major discussion was Nigeria and nothing else other than Nigerians how we’ll continue to empower youths and tourism which is an important aspect that can help in that direction.
 Why do you think tourism?
Tourism is important. It is one economic sector which Nigeria, as an entity, and Nigerians as a people, have not come to terms with, in relations to its economic indispensability. Tourism is a movement. It deals with movement of the people and its attendant’s economic implications. Since I came here,  I met a lot of Nigerians who are aware. I don’t know how a lot of people are aware of my staying here and they have been coming here in droves to visit me and there is no way their visit will not rubbed off  on the economy of this area. This is one of the impacts and efforts of tourism. I am a tourism gospel spreader and I cannot or no longer hide myself. So I have to continue to preach the gospel of positivity on things about the country in such a way that it will positively affect the growth of the country. If we have positive movement in the area of tourism, it will empower a lot of youths. Look, when I came here, I was very impressed with what I saw. I was welcomed by over 100  youths;  the ones that were beating the drums, the ones that displayed traditional dance, (male and female) the ones that were smoking sea foods, over 100 youths being engaged here and being paid for work done in this tourism enclave!
How do you feel about your decision to spend your honeymoon here in this village at this tourism enclave?
I just do what is supposed to be done. This is what we should do to encourage local investors in tourism sector and keep our youths employed. Nigerians must learn and embrace the culture of patronising the numerous tourism sites for whatever reasons.  My coming here will domesticate my spending for the benefit of the workers and the public in general. If 30 per cent of Nigerians honeymoon spenders patronise local investors, the domestic tourism will grow, our investors will make money and the workers will be okay. You can imagine if the president of this country goes to Obudu Cattle Ranch, that is a big statement or the Senate President or Vice President goes to Tinapa to just go there to relax with his family or some of the governors go to Yankari Games Reserve. It will not only boost the economy of the sector, it will domesticate our spending and improve the society for better.

Do You Get Pressed In The Midnight? Check This 11 Facts About Sleep Paralysis You Need To Know + Gifs

Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon in which an individual, either during falling asleep or awakening, briefly experiences an inability to move, speak, or react. It is sometimes accompanied by frightening hallucinations to which one is unable to react due to paralysis and perceived physical experiences, such as a strong current running through the upper body. Sleep paralysis poses no immediate risk to those who experience it, and it lasts from several seconds to several minutes.

Have you been experiencing all these??? Well, here's 11 facts we got for you that will keep your head straight!

1.It feels kind of like you woke up dead.

'Most patients say the same thing to describe sleep paralysis: that it feels like you woke up dead. You know that your mind is awake and your body is not — so you're trapped, essentially,' Michael Breus, Ph.D., clinical psychologist and fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, tells BuzzFeed Life.

You know that your mind is awake and your body is not — so you're trapped, essentially," Michael Breus, Ph.D., clinical psychologist and fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, tells BuzzFeed Life.

2.And it's way more complicated than a nightmare.

'It is the complete opposite, actually,' Breus explains. When you enter deep REM sleep, your brain tells the body's voluntary muscles to relax and go into almost a state of paralysis, which is called atonia. Atonia actually helps protect the body from injury by preventing you from acting out the physical movements in your dreams. In other parasomnias, such as sleepwalking or REM sleep behavior disorder, atonia does not occur properly and the voluntary muscles move while the mind remains asleep, which is why people can sometimes do crazy things in their sleep and be totally unaware of it. In sleep paralysis, the body remains paralyzed in REM atonia while the brain awakens and the eyes start to open, explains Breus. Sufferers become alert in a transient conscious state, but they are unable to move voluntary muscles or speak. Although involuntary muscle movement, like breathing, is not affected, there is often a sensation of chest pressure, which is why many people wake up from sleep paralysis gasping to take a deep breath. Episodes can last anywhere from 20 seconds to a few minutes."It is the complete opposite, actually," Breus explains. 3.It happens when you're falling asleep or waking up.

Sleep paralysis can occur during one of two transitions in the sleep cycle. The body must go into REM sleep, and it must come out of it, but sleep paralysis occurs when the body has trouble making these transitions. If it happens when you're falling asleep, it's called hypnagogic sleep paralysis, whereas if it happens during waking it's called hypnopompic, Breus explains. Unfortunately, why the body can't transition smoothly is still unknown.

4.Sleep paralysis can involve hallucinations.

Unlike the visuals in nightmares or lucid dreams, which occur when the eyes are closed in REM sleep, these hallucinations occur in the state between sleeping and waking when the mind is alert and the eyes are open. True visual and auditory hallucinations during sleep paralysis are relatively rare, according to Breus, but many patients report feeling an undeniably strange or scary presence in the room. Plus, sleep paralysis is just super frightening to begin with, so it often triggers a panicked response with increased heart rate. 'People freak out because they can't move, and it's this extreme anxiety which causes people to be very fearful of their surroundings,' says Breus.

5.You can't just wake yourself up.

Some patients report that they can wiggle their toes, fingers, or facial muscles, which helps them wake up the rest of their body. 'Everybody tries something different, but you can’t fool mother nature — there's no way to pull yourself out of it. You just have to wait it out,' says Breus.

6.Sleep paralysis is actually a natural occurrence and can happen to anyone.

Every time you go to sleep, there is some risk of waking up in sleep paralysis, says Breus. But severity and degree of consciousness vary greatly — most people have at least one episode at some point in life but aren't even aware of it. When it does happen, it's highly individual and rarely the same experience for everyone.Every time you go to sleep, there is some risk of waking up in sleep paralysis, says Breus. ...But it's most common among young adults and people with a history of mental illness.

A Penn State study found the highest prevalence rates were in students and psychiatric patients.

7.It's probably related to being sleep deprived.

According to Breus, research has consistently shown that the less sleep you get and the more exhausted you are, the more likely you are to experience sleep paralysis and other sleep disorders.

8.So avoiding sleep paralysis might be as simple as getting better and longer sleep.

'Sleep deprivation can either be measured in quantity or quality,' says Breus. 'For example, if you have sleep apnea and you wake yourself up because you stop breathing throughout the night, the quantity of your sleep is bad. If you consume large amounts of alcohol, it prevents you from entering deeper stages of sleep which decreases the quality.' So if sleep paralysis is something you deal with, make sure you're getting enough sleep and you're not doing things that compromise the quality of your sleep (like drinking a lot or eating right before bed). Breus also suggests noting any abnormal sleep behaviors (that you or your partner may notice), like irregular breathing while sleeping or waking up gasping for air, which could actually be an undiagnosed sleep disorder."Sleep deprivation can either be measured in quantity or quality," says Breus. 9.But really, there is no definitive cause.

Stress, depression, certain prescription medications, and, more recently, an inherited gene have all been linked to sleep paralysis, Breus tells us. But while research shows associations, there is no clear cause of sleep paralysis, which is obviously super frustrating for anyone going through this. We do know that sleep paralysis can either occur on its own as an isolated incident, or it can be a symptom of other sleep disorders, such as narcolepsy. And there's no explanation for why it might happen every other day or just every once in a while.

10.Seriously, people have been trying to explain this weird phenomenon for centuries.

Accounts of sleep paralysis can be found in Persian medical texts dating back to the 10th century. The first clinical observation was made by a Dutch physician in 1664 who diagnosed a 50-year-old woman with 'Night-Mare.' It was believed to be caused by demons or spiritual possession until the 19th century, when it was termed 'sleep palsy' and eventually 'sleep paralysis' in medical texts.

11.And it probably explains whatever is going on in this very famous Renaissance painting.

Swiss painter Henry Fuseli's painting is said to be inspired by supernatural dream experiences and the growing interest in sleep paralysis among doctors at the time. This creepy little gremlin could also represent the sensation of chest pressure...or it could be argued that he's just trying to get it in with this sleeping damsel.Swiss painter Henry Fuseli's painting is said to be inspired by supernatural dream experiences and the growing interest in sleep paralysis among doctors at the time. 12.People have blamed sleep paralysis on everything from witches and UFOs to giant ghost dogs.

And there are various folk legends all over the world that attempt to explain the existence of it in different cultures.

13.However, there's really no evidence that it'll kill you.

'Research has shown that sleep paralysis is not dangerous,' says Breus. 'It does not cause physical harm to the body and there are no clinical deaths known to date.' While there are some terrifying cultural explanations around the world, these are constructed to make sense of a very mysterious condition. 'The biggest thing is to educate people to not be afraid,' says Breus. 'In all likelihood, they just need more rest. If they get enough sleep and the episodes continue with any regularity, then they should go to a sleep disorder specialist.'"Research has shown that sleep paralysis is not dangerous," says Breus. ...But just try telling that to someone who has sleep paralysis.

Anyone who has ever experienced this can tell you that it is effing terrifying and feels almost paranormal, rather than a typical sleep disorder. Sufferers share their frightening experiences in countless YouTube videos, Reddit threads, and sleep paralysis websites.
